The Wolfson Centre for Young People's Mental Health at Cardiff University was established to improve the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people through outstanding research. After five years of operation, the Centre held a half-day celebratory event at the Hadyn Ellis Building, Cardiff, bringing together researchers, collaborators, and the young people and advisors who had contributed to its work, including the Young People's Advisory Group for the ADHD and Depression project, one of the Centre's flagship programmes.
Why does ADHD lead to depression in young people, and what can be done about it?
The Event
The celebration brought together members of the Centre's research community to mark the milestone and reflect on the work produced across five years. For YPAG members, it was an opportunity to see the arc of a project, from initial involvement through to the Centre's broader contribution, and to meet the wider network of researchers and collaborators who make up the Wolfson Centre's community.
